gone west

July, 2018... After almost twenty five years, my parents made it back to Idaho. Working for a major construction firm at the time, my dad packed up their things from a small apartment in MA and brought my mom out west. Not knowing what to expect I can only imagine how difficult the transition was for the two of them. If you've never been out west, where nothing but fields and a road or two stretch to every horizon, it's really difficult to grasp exactly what this "nothing" looks like. Those years before kids gave way to some of my parents' best stories, and I couldn't have been happier seeing them relive their early adventures together.

Before we made our way to Sun Valley, ID we spent the week in Jackson Hole WY. My sister's face walking off the plane and witnessing the Tetons (13,770') was one I will never forget. A bit of a change from Wachusett Mountain (2,005') back home. Exploring Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park made for some wild adventures... waking up for sunrise photos, coming bumper to nose with buffalo, and exploring the colorful hot springs.

On our last night, my dear old friend Natalie drove out from Montana to check out Sun Valley and shoot with us. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful week out West, and I'm already itching to go back.
